Holographic superconductors
It has been shown that a gravitational dual to a superconductor can be obtained by coupling anti-de Sitter gravity to a Maxwell field and charged scalar. We review our earlier analysis of this theory and extend it in two directions. First, we consider all values for the charge of the scalar field. Away from the large charge limit, backreaction on the spacetime metric is important. While the qua...
متن کاملGlueball decay patterns in top-down holographic QCD
We discuss our results on scalar glueball decay in the top-down holographic Witten-SakaiSugimoto model for low-energy QCD and compare with available experimental data, which appear to disfavor the glueball candidate f0(1500) but seem to be perfectly consistent with interpreting f0(1710) as a nearly unmixed glueball. The holographic model moreover makes definite predictions for future experiments.
متن کاملGeneralizing Holographic Superconductors
We consider a family of holographically dual models of superconductivity to test the robustness of holographic superconductor models in general. Following the treatment of Hartnoll et al. and Albrecht et al., we introduce the basic holographic model and then develop a family of similar models by varying a parameter in the spacetime metric of the holographic theory. We then calculate several obs...

We study the poles of the retarded Green functions of a holographic superconductor. The model shows a second order phase transition where a charged scalar operator condenses and a U(1) symmetry is spontaneously broken. The poles of the holographic Green functions are the quasinormal modes in an AdS black hole background. We study the spectrum of quasinormal frequencies in the broken phase, wher...
متن کاملPhotoemission “experiments” on holographic superconductors
We study the effects of a superconducting condensate on holographic Fermi surfaces. With a suitable coupling between the fermion and the condensate, there are stable quasiparticles with a gap. We find some similarities with the phenomenology of the cuprates: in systems whose normal state is a non-Fermi liquid with no stable quasiparticles, a stable quasiparticle peak appears in the condensed ph...
